The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 18 million claimants and customers.
The UK DWP has a large Digital department that is responsible to ensure large IT programs and projects deliver value for the department and the UK citizens they serve. To ensure senior leadership has insight in the delivery progress they needed a graphical overview of programs, projects and their associated milestones.
Due to Plat4mation past experiences with similar challenges at a large Dutch bank and Plat4mation already assisted DWP with the IT and Portfolio Management, DWP asked Plat4mation for advice. Recognizing the need of DWP for a Roadmap application that visualizes the timelines of programs, projects and milestones, we started a co-development to create Roadmap4U. This application is tightly coupled to the Out-Of-The-Box (standard) data model of ServiceNow and is currently used to manage the complete DWP Digital Portfolio to deliver more projects on time.
