It provides the flexibility to teams to create their own process (lanes) to ensure work can flow optimally to increase productivity. At the same time it does take into account the task states defined centrally by your organization to allow centralized steering and reporting.
The goal of Kanban4U is to optimize the amount of work in progress (WIP) to align to available capacity (so called WIP limits). When WIP limits are exceeded, everything slows down, and the smooth flow of work turns into a logjam.
